WHO ARE WE?
The Georgia Caribbean American Coalition, Inc. comprises representatives of Caribbean organizations and leaders in the metro Atlanta Caribbean community. The Coalition is also part of the Commemorative Committee for Caribbean American Heritage Month (CAHM) of the Institute of Institute of Caribbean Studies in Washington, D.C.
This voluntary group is dedicated to serving the community by creating annual activities to acknowledge the service of Caribbean Americans to America; by helping to develop the cultural, educational, and economic interests of Caribbean American peoples; and to build bridges to the different communities in America.
MISSION
The Georgia Caribbean American Heritage Coalition, Inc. is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) non-partisan organization established in 2006. Its mission is to preserve and promote information about Caribbean American life, history and culture in the State of Georgia community.
VISION
Our vision is to be a leading Caribbean American heritage organization, with a strong network of local and national partners and institutions whose diverse and inclusive alliance will continue the Caribbean American legacy.
GOALS AND OBJECTIVES
- To operate as part of the CAHM Commemorative Committee of the Institute of Caribbean Studies (ICS) based in Washington, D.C.
- To solicit the official recognition of Caribbean American Heritage Month in the State of Georgia
- To initiate programs in Georgia for the observation of Caribbean American Heritage Month.
- To foster, preserve and expand social, cultural and educational links between Caribbean nationals and other communities of America.
- To promote business relations between the Caribbean and America through seminars.
- To create a better understanding among the youth of both regions through their involvement with cultural and educational programs.
- To partner with Caribbean and other organizations to effect the Coalition's annual programs.
